End User Licence Agreement

Draft · last updated PLACEHOLDER: date

Draft. Section structure is in place; operative wording is marked with placeholders and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. This document is not yet in force.

1. Scope

This agreement covers the Liminalis desktop client — the native application distributed through application stores and direct download. Use of the underlying service is governed separately by the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.

PLACEHOLDER: licensor entity, and a note on whether a store's standard EULA applies in place of this one for that store's distribution.

2. Licence grant

Subject to this agreement, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the desktop client on devices you own or control. PLACEHOLDER: device count, permitted users, and whether use within an organisation is included.

3. Restrictions

You may not reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble the client except to the extent that restriction is unenforceable in your jurisdiction; redistribute or sublicense it; remove proprietary notices; or use it to circumvent metering, access controls or rate limits in the service. PLACEHOLDER: any further restrictions.

4. Local speech-to-text

The client includes a locally-executed speech recognition component. Audio captured for transcription is processed on your device and is not transmitted to us. PLACEHOLDER: the component used, its own licence terms, where model files are stored, and how they are obtained.

5. Third-party and open-source components

The client incorporates third-party and open-source components, each under its own licence. PLACEHOLDER: attribution list, or a link to the notices file shipped with the application.

6. Updates

PLACEHOLDER: whether updates are automatic, whether they may change functionality, and how a version may be retired.

7. Connectivity and service dependence

The client is a shell around the Liminalis service and requires an account and network access for most functionality. It is not a standalone offline application.

8. Ownership

The client is licensed, not sold. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. PLACEHOLDER: trademark and intellectual property statement.

9. Termination

This licence ends if you breach it, or when you uninstall the client. PLACEHOLDER: consequences of termination and survival of clauses.

10. Disclaimers and liability

PLACEHOLDER: warranty disclaimer, liability limits, and any statutory rights that are unaffected.

11. Governing law

PLACEHOLDER: governing law and venue.

12. Contact

PLACEHOLDER: contact address. See also Support.
